Val di Fiemme, Val di Fassa, and Primiero are three valleys located among the Alps of eastern Trentino. This area is known for its beautiful mountains, and includes some of the most prominent massifs of the Dolomites. Various popular ski resorts are located here, but the many small traditional villages also offer interesting attractions.

Val di Fiemme
Val di Fiemme is one of the main valleys in Trentino, located among the Dolomites and crossed by the Avisio stream. Since the Middle Ages, the villages of the valley have formed part of the Magnifica Comunità di Fiemme, that governed the area under the rule of other larger powers. Val di Fiemme is now a popular tourist destination, famous for its ski resorts and gorgeous mountains, and it has hosted many winter sports events. The historic capital of the valley is Cavalese, but the largest town is Predazzo.
Palazzo della Magnifica Comunità di Fiemme
The Palazzo della Magnifica Comunità di Fiemme is the historic seat of the Magnifica Comunità di Fiemme, located in Cavalese. The building was erected in the 13th century, and it has been decorated later with many frescoes that also occupy its facade. Now it serves mainly as a museum and art gallery.

Geological Museum of the Dolomites
The Geological Museum of the Dolomites (Museo Geologico delle Dolomiti) is a natural sciences museum in Predazzo, focused on the unique environment of the Dolomites. The museum hosts a large collection of fossils and other findings that showcase the geological history of the surrounding mountains.

Val di Fassa/Val de Fascia
Val di Fassa (Val de Fascia in Ladin) is a valley in the northeast of Trentino, crossed by the Avisio stream that flows into Val di Fiemme. The valley is surrounded by some of the most prominent mountains of the Dolomites, and so it is a popular toruist destination. Val di Fassa is mostly inhabited by the Ladin community, and the majority of people speak Ladin. The six municipalities of the valley form the Comun General de Fascia, with its capital in San Giovanni di Fassa (Sèn Jan).
✪ Canazei/Cianacéi
Canazei (Cianacéi in Ladin) is the main tourist destination of Val di Fassa. It is located near some of the most prominent mountains of the Dolomites, and just under the Marmolada, and so it is the base station for hikes and excursions. Canazei is also an important ski resort and a famous location for mountain sports. The town itself hosts a few historic churches and buildings.

Ladin Museum of Fassa
The Ladin Museum of Fassa (Museo Ladino di Fassa/Museo Ladin de Fascia) is an ethnographic museum in Vigo di Fassa (Vich) that hosts exhibitions on the unique Ladin traditions in Val di Fassa. The museum houses various historic objects and also serves as a cultural institution to promote the Ladin culture and language.

Primiero
Primiero is a valley in Trentino located on the western side of the Pala group of the Dolomites and it houses a few mountain villages. A large portion of the territory is part of the Panaveggio Pale di San Martino Natural Park and it is noted for its wonderful environment. The area also hosts some of the most famous ski resorts in the region and it is a popular tourist destination. The most important town in the valley is Fiera di Primiero, in the municipality of Primiero San Martino di Castrozza.

The Pale di San Martino is the largest massif in the Dolomites, stretching along the border between Trentino and Veneto.
