The Cosmundus Atlas is expanding with the addition of Central Italy, which includes the Italian regions of Tuscany, Umbria, Marche, and Lazio, as well as the two small countries of San Marino and Vatican City.
Central Italy features many of the country’s most famous attractions and landmarks, including Rome and Florence, two of the most visited cities in the world. Here are also many other notable destinations, such as Pisa, Siena, Assisi, and Urbino, which house countless masterpieces of medieval and Renaissance art and architecture, and several ancient ruins and archaeological areas. This region also includes numerous small towns located among the hills, such as the stunning San Gimignano, Monteriggioni, and Civita di Bagnoregio. Central Italy also offers several popular seaside resorts and features various islands in the Tyrrhenian Sea, the largest of which is Elba Island, and there is still a lot to discover!
The Cosmundus Atlas already includes Northeast Italy and Northwest Italy, and now with Central Italy you can explore more than half of the country. Southern Italy and the islands of Sicily and Sardinia will be added in the next few months, so keep an eye out for future updates. Meanwhile, don’t forget to check the weekly articles on the blog.
